The suburb of Seven Hills is located in Sydney, the capital city of New South Wales. Seven Hills is approximately 34 kilometres west of the city’s CBD in what’s known as the region of Greater Western Sydney, and is neighboured by the suburbs of Lalor Park, Kings Langley, Bella Vista, Blacktown, Baulkham Hills, Eastern Creek Prospect, Toongabbie and Winston Hills.

Seven Hills is mostly made up of residential properties, although it’s home to a commercial area and a number of amenities for locals. The suburb features a fire brigade station and a broadcasting station, in addition to a major shopping centre. The suburb also houses plenty of schools, including six pre-schools, six primary schools, two high schools and one school for special purposes.

The major shopping centre situated within Seven Hills is known as Seven Hills Plaza. It offers customers three major supermarkets including Aldi, Coles and Woolworths, as well as a number of smaller stores which include Rockmans, Best & Lest and Choice Homewares. Also existing within the complex are medical, dental and optical services, as well as a liquor store, a post office, a gym, a number of outlets serving fresh specialty groceries, and health and beauty services. Grantham Heritage Park is also located within the suburb of Seven Hills, and offers locals and visitors a fresh, open space to wander through. The park features a community garden managed by the Blacktown Council, which can be found at the park’s Sustainability Hub. The space has its own education and workshop space dedicated to sustainable living, a garden designed for growing “bush tucker”, demonstration areas, and a horticulture training garden from TAFE NSW in addition to the community garden. Here, passionate members of the community are encouraged to get involved with the garden’s maintenance.

The park, which is entirely heritage-listed, also houses the Grantham Heritage Park Memorial. This tribute sits on a historically significant site within the park, and pays homage to all those who were involved in any of the conflicts faced by Australia since the First World War. A Bachelor’s Barracks for Returned Service Men used to stand on the site where the memorial has since been constructed.
